THE SCRIPT COMPANY presents Hirimba- a powerful Bengali audio story where literature, mythology, and modern storytelling come together.

Popular Bengali content creator Jhilam Gupta plays the title role of Hirimba, delivering a voice performance that challenges how this Mahabharata character has been remembered for generations. Through her voice, Hirimba emerges not as a demon, but as a woman shaped by love, loss, and choice.

The story is based on an essay by Sahitya Akademi Award–winning scholar Nrisingha Prasad Bhaduri, one of the most respected names in Bengali intellectual and mythological studies. The essay is taken from his landmark book “Mahabharater Ashtadoshi”, for which he received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2016—making this story both authoritative and deeply rooted in literary scholarship.

The essay has been adapted into story form by Devtanu Raha, alumnus of Presidency University and currently a research scholar at Krea University, Andhra Pradesh. His earlier audio stories Beerman and Keu Mareni Oder are also featured on THE SCRIPT COMPANY channel.
