The #LaLuzTrail is perhaps the most #popular and #famous #trail in the #SandiaMountains , and with good reason. It's #challenging , fun and chock full of #amazing #views !
During much of the year- from Fall through Spring and even into summer, this trail can become treacherous on the higher parts, with ice, deep snow, rapidly plummeting conditions, and trail that becomes difficult to follow. If in doubt, don't go out. Check with the #CibolaNationalForest ranger station and weather and snow conditions on the top of the #mountain before attempting. Winter conditions often require use of crampons, ice axes, and helmets for safety. This is also a challenging hike with a lot of elevation gain at all times of year, and temperatures and weather can vary drastically from the bottom to the top.
