We begin with a scenic taxi ride to the ancient hilltop fortress of Stari Bar (Old Bar), a captivating open-air museum nestled beneath Mount Rumija. Once a thriving urban center dating back to Roman and Byzantine times, Old Bar has seen Venetian, Ottoman, and Montenegrin rule. Wander through cobbled paths, explore small museums, and marvel at ruins of churches, aqueducts, and Turkish bathhouses. After soaking in centuries of history, we unwind with a drink literally in the bar—a perfect end to our climb.
