Allentown, PA., Tuesday December 10, 2024
Just before 2:00AM Allentown Fire transmitted the box for Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Lehigh Street for a building fire sending Engines 4, 9, 6, 14, Truck 2 and Battalion 43.
Engine 4 arrived and reported a working fire in a 2--story commercial building located at 411 Lehigh Street. Chief 43 advised all companies that this will be a defensive operation right from the start.
Shortly after arriving, Battalion 43 struck out the 2nd alarm and then the 3rd alarm. Mutual Aid companies from surrounding communities were called in to man the city fire houses.
The fire burned for 6 hours.
