Trailer demo orgel Loppersum 2020 12 31

In the autumn of 2019, the major restoration and reconstruction of the beautiful baroque organ in the Petrus & Pauluskerk in Loppersum (NL-Province of Groningen) was completed. Due to the corona pandemic, only one concert could be organized in 2020 and there was another live organ demonstration. Here is a small selection to get an impression of this magnificent instrument.
I myself was the organ consultant, but was given more tasks than is normally done. For example, I was more of an organ architect, project leader and I had financial responsibility.
The still remaining organ cases with balcony date from 1562 / c. 1590 (Andreas and Marten de Mare). Balcony widened and organcases renovated in 1665 (Hendrick Huisz). The interior dates from 1735 (Hauptwerk, Albertus Anthoni Hinsz, in Schnitger style) and 1803 (Rückpositiv Heinrich Hermann Freytag, in Schnitgerschool style). The organ was completely renovated in 1958-63. The interior was then restored by Gebr. Van Vulpen.
In the current work, the architectural situation from before 1958 has been restored and the restoration work from 1963 has been fundamentally corrected.
This work was realized by the Koninklijke Orgelmakerij Bakker & Timmenga. Restoration and completion of the carving work by Tico Top and the painting and gilding (restoration of the color scheme 1735) by Appie Veenstra (with the help of Tim Knigge).
