The 10th Anniversary of the African Economic Zones

As we mark the 10th Anniversary of the African Economic Zones Organization (AEZO), partners, institutions, and global leaders got together to honor a decade dedicated to advancing Special Economic Zones across Africa.

Through heartfelt messages, speakers highlighted AEZO’s role in:

🌍 Strengthening Africa’s SEZ landscape through knowledge sharing, policy dialogue, and technical capacity building.

🤝 Forging partnerships with UNCTAD, UNIDO, UNECA, AfCFTA, the Global Alliance of SEZs, and national SEZ authorities.

📚 Delivering impactful tools, such as the Handbook of SEZs in Africa, pharmaceutical cluster guidelines, entrepreneurship frameworks, and practitioner training.

🔗 Connecting SEZs with the AfCFTA vision, paving new pathways for industrialization, regional value chains, and sustainable investment.

🚀 Bridging policy and practice, uniting governments, agencies, investors, and practitioners in one continental community.

From Ghana to The Gambia, from Geneva to Addis Ababa, leaders reaffirmed AEZO’s essential role in empowering SEZs to drive industrial transformation, job creation, and long-term competitiveness across Africa.

Today, we celebrate 10 years of progress, and we look forward to the next decade of resilience, innovation, and collective growth for Africa’s SEZs.
