Continuing on from the first video in this series where we talked about Barry Harris's extra half step rules on Dominant (V) chords (   • Bebop Improvisation 101: The 2 Concepts Fr...  ), in this episode we talk about the half step rules for Tonic chords in both Major (I) and Minor (i) keys. We also talk about some ways that we can practice these half step models to improvise beautiful, idiomatic jazz lines, full of little chromatic twists and turns. Barry is the greatest jazz teacher in the world. His concepts are simple enough to understand the basics of almost immediately, and deep enough to keep working on and discovering new things with for the rest of your life.
