This 2006 John Walker Clark Fork is a truly great guitar with some beautiful appointments. It has a Nice Cherry burst Adirondack Red Spruce top, predominantly quarter sawn Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, and a nice rounded "V" profile Mahogany neck. This guitar is almost a time capsule from 2006. It is his 12th guitar as an independent builder after he left Gibson as one of their two master builders.

This guitar is an early JWalker guitar, shortly after he left his tenure as the head of Gibson's Handmade Custom Shop in Bozeman, MT.

The undyed Ebony peghead overlay features the J. Walker pearl inlay at the top, and a pearl flourish inlay in the center. Ebony truss rod cover just above the polished bone nut. The neck features Maple binding around the peghead and cleverly tucked under the edge of the Ebony fingerboard. This edge binding of the fingerboard is very unique and is such a difficult job most makers never attempt it. The neck is a vintage rounded "V" neck with gold Waverly tuners with ivoroid buttons. Back of the peghead darkens toward the neck bowle ending in a "bee sting". Neck heel is faithful to the late 30's and 40's Gibson style.

The body is in amazing condition. Beautiful sunburst top with fire striped celluloid pickguard. Traditional rectangular bridge with a cut-through saddle and Boxwood bridge pins. The simple soundhole rosette is a three-ply ring of ivoroid/tortoise/ivoroid. The top and back are bound with Flame Maple wooden binding. The top edge is bordered in the inside with a black accent line. Interesting wooden marquetry backstrip separating the two-piece Brazilian Rosewood back. Flame Maple end-wedge and Boxwood endpin. The Brazilian Rosewood is awfully nice. It is predominately quarter-sawn, and is a handsome medium brown.

This 2006 John Walker Clark Fork is a monster guitar in terms of tone and playability. Comes with the original hard case.
