ESDS is on the track to become the next big Indian Cloud Hyperscale. In this video we will talk about this company in detail, its company overview, financials, achievements and more.

Incorporated in 2005, starting from humble beginnings providing web hosting services, a cloud empire was Built. ESDS Software Solutions broke into the big league with India’s very own eNlight Cloud platform, grew into a 1200 + strong workforce, 5 data centers across India and a global presence spanning APAC, Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, and Africa. It is leading transformation journeys of 450 + BFSI clients, 250 + govt organizations, and 600 + enterprises and innovating with a R&D powerhouse team of 200 people. It is a one-stop shop for Cloud, IT security, and Managed services.

ESDS plans to double its data centre footprint within the next two years. It currently has data centres in four locations and wants to expand it to eight locations. It will require an investment of around ₹600 crore. Half of this will be funded through internal accruals, and the other half through a PE fundraise

The Company has 4 (four) subsidiaries (2 Indian and 2 Foreign) as on 31st March, 2024.

And now, coming to its financials,
March 2024 revenue was Rs. 292.0 Cr. Vs. Rs. 212.2 Cr. in the PY which is a growth 37.6%
PAT was Rs. 13.7 Cr in March 2024 Vs. Rs. -22.5 Cr. in the PY which is a growth of -160.9%
EPS was Rs. 1.4 in March 2024 Vs. Rs. -2.4 in the PY.

With outstanding shares of 9.29 Cr. their market cap at the current share price stands at 3,921.3 Cr. with a PE multiplier of 301.5.

GEF Capital, which initially invested in ESDS in 2018, sold a portion of its stake to local investors and family offices in a pre-IPO round valued between INR 300 to 400 crore (approximately USD 35-47 million), according to a report by VC Circle in Dec 2024. This transaction is estimated to have valued the company at around INR 2,000 – 2,200 crore.

Prior to this exit, GEF held over 41% of ESDS, having invested approximately INR 167 crore across multiple funding rounds. The latest deal is believed to have yielded a return of 5-6 times the original investment for GEF, demonstrating the firm’s successful monetization strategy as it prepares to raise its third fund, targeting up to USD 400 million.
