The Avatar Fire and Ash trailer just dropped… and it’s was absolute cinema.

Did you notice? Spider can breathe without a mask.

At first, we see Spider with Kiri, but in one scene, he suddenly collapses. If you look closely, you’ll notice his mask display 0% oxygen — meaning someone likely shot his tank or damaged it. That’s why he suddenly runs out of air.

He’s on the brink of death. And that’s when Kiri will unlocks her full Eywa given powers — she will revives Spider. and possibly grants him the ability to breathe Pandora’s air without a mask. It’s a huge moment, showing how far her connection to Eywa has evolved.

We also finally meet the Ash Clan and their leader Varang, who says.

“Your goddess has no dominion here.”

That one line says a lot. It means Eywa cannot reach their land — because Eywa only controls life and nature, and the Ash People live in a scorched volcanic region where everything has been destroyed. trees, wildlife, balance. Their entire biome was consumed by fire.

Because of this, the Ash People hate Eywa, and they hate the other Na’vi clans who still live in harmony with her. In their view, Eywa abandoned them and allowed the volcano to destroy their world. That’s why they feel betrayed, and why they reject all other Na’vi who still worship her.

We also see how the Ash People have learned to control fire — but if you look carefully, it seems they use some kind of oil or flammable liquid on their bodies to ignite and weaponize fire. It’s not natural firebending like water or air; it’s raw, dangerous, and fueled by survival and rage.

Meanwhile, Colonel Miles Quaritch has allied with the Ash Clan. He gives them human weapons and uses their hate as fuel to launch an assault on the other clans — specifically the Air and Water Clans. He’s not just hunting Jake Sully anymore… he’s waging war on all who follow Eywa.

There’s visible tension between Jake and Neytiri, and we see what looks like Jake being captured by humans. It’s possible that when the Ash Clan and Quaritch attack the Water Clan, Jake sacrifices himself to protect his people and buys them time to escape. But even after that, the fear and terror across the clans doesn’t stop.

Jake eventually escapes with help from his friends, and we see him gearing up for one final stand. Neytiri, meanwhile, is shown injured inside a hospital — which strongly suggests she was attacked while Jake was in captivity. That’s why, when Jake returns, she becomes fiercely protective of her family, and we’ll likely see her unleash her full fury.

We also see some of the most beautiful aerial shots ever put to screen in the Avatar series — absolutely stunning visuals that show just how epic this war is going to be.

I think Eywa and Kiri will have the biggest roles in this movie — they’re the ones who could change the fate of all Pandora. And there are even rumors that either Neytiri or Jake Sully might die. Are you ready for that?
