The camera I've been using for all these aestheticvideos.
This is Panasonic's first entry into the consumer camcorder market, which was in 1985. As opposed to using a special cassette format, they, along with RCA and Hitachi, entered the consumer camcorder market with camcorders that used a full-sized VHS tape.
The PV-200D boasted the ability to play standard VHS movies, besides recording their own home movies, allowing the camcorder to double as a standard VCR (as can be seen in the TV commercial for the camcorder).
It's also possible to acquire a car adapter, which only has composite output
The provided power brick can power up the camera to watch or record videos, or charge a battery (it cannot do both simultaneously). It has both composite output and an RF modulator. It can also power up a secondary charger.
This unit was manufactured in November of 1985
The camera records at 29.97 FPS (NTSC broadcast-friendly equivalent of 30fps). It is possible to achieve 59.94 fps (the ATSC broadcast-friendly equivalent of 60fps) with the correct de-interlacing settings.
The camcorder is NOT compatible with SLP/EP-recorded cassettes. It can only play/record SP cassettes.
VHS audio is recorded in MONO.
Wanna buy me a coffee and help support the channel?
