Understanding how drones can be an important tool for public service agencies. Eric Hernando is a detective with the Holmdel, New Jersey Police Department, a Lieutenant with the Holmdel Fire Department, and he also serves as the Holmdel Township Emergency Management Coordinator. In addition to his regular duties in law enforcement in the sprawling township, Mr. Hernando is a drone expert. He started the drone program for the department, knowing that drones can be an important tool for public service agencies. Mr. Hernando says with proper training by police, drones can be used to assist in law enforcement, as well as the Fire Department, Emergency Management and Emergency Medical Services.
