On May 17, 1977, President Jimmy Carter visited Los Angeles for a high-tech town hall meeting run by KNXT-TV. At the event, Carter took questions from the in-studio guests, but also remote video questions from locations around Los Angeles, including the San Fernando Valley, Orange County, South-Central LA, and East LA. This video compiles the portions from the UCLA campus, which included questions from two students (one questioning Carter's energy policies, which he accused of being too corporate-friendly and not devoting enough resources to solar power; another asking about Carter's support for higher education and research. A final questioner did not get a chance to ask his question to Carter directly, but was included in the post-event analysis). Anchors/reporters for the event included Connie Chung and Bill Stout.
