In this video, we introduce a fun vision therapy exercise called Eye Fixations with Balance Beam designed for toddlers and young children. This activity helps children improve eye fixations while developing bilateral integration and body coordination.
Why Eye Fixations Matter:
• Strengthens the ability to keep eyes focused on a single point
• Enhances bilateral integration by coordinating both sides of the body
• Supports balance and motor control
• Encourages eye contact and attention while moving
How It Works:
1. Use a small balance beam, curb, or tape line on the floor.
2. Have your child walk along the beam while looking at your eyes, not around the room or at the ground.
3. Start with short distances, gradually increasing as your child improves.
4. Reinforce eye contact and fixations during walking.
5. This activity is perfect for toddlers learning eye control, coordination, and focus, while also making the exercise interactive and playful.
Benefits of Eye Fixations with Balance Beam:
• Improves eye fixations and visual attention
• Strengthens bilateral coordination and motor skills
• Enhances balance and body control
• Fun, interactive, and easy to do at home
