These almond crescent cookies are incredibly tender, buttery, and aromatic 🤍
Thanks to almond flour, they literally melt in your mouth, and the touch of rum essence gives them a warm, festive bakery-style aroma.
These cookies are one of my personal favorites, so today I made a double batch — I was expecting guests.
If you need a smaller portion, simply divide all ingredients in half.

🧾 Ingredients
250 g plain flour (about 2 cups)
200 g almond flour (about 2 cups)
A pinch of salt
160 g sugar (about ¾ cup + 1 tablespoon)
240 g butter, softened (about 1 cup)
10 g vanilla sugar (about 2 teaspoons)
A few drops of rum essence
1 egg white (for brushing)
Almond flakes (for topping)
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
👩🍳 Instructions
In a bowl, mix the plain flour, almond flour, and salt.
In a separate bowl, combine the softened butter with sugar until smooth and creamy.
Add vanilla sugar and rum essence, then mix well.
Gradually combine the wet mixture with the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
Portion the dough using a tablespoon for evenly sized cookies.
Shape each piece into a crescent.
Brush the cookies with egg white and generously sprinkle with almond flakes.
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 12–15 minutes, until lightly golden.
Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar.
