[SOLD!] Typewriter for sale: 1959 Tower President XII [SOLD!]

For sale is a vintage 1959 cream and mocha Tower President XII (made by Smith Corona) with a gorgeous gold case. Seven-day eBay auction (link below) started April 18, 2021 with $350 minimum bid and buy-it-now price of $525. Snappy typing and snazzy looking, this machine blends looks from both 5 Series and the later Citation models. This typewriter had a fair amount of goo and fuzz and eraser shavings when we got it. That crap has been brushed, blown, or flushed out. This typewriter has been disassembled, chemically cleaned, very lightly oiled in the proper places, and tuned and adjusted. It now types like a dream and can sit on your desk, proud and clean. The keys and platen knobs have been cleaned and sanitized. It has a fresh new red and black ribbon with eyelets installed for the ribbon-reverse system. Original metal spools. Typewriter is in fantastic shape, as you can tell from the pictures, with just a few minor scuffs. The original rubber feet are still soft and in good shape. The rubber platen and feed rollers have been cleaned to remove decades of slick oil and ink buildup and are all in excellent shape. I tuned and tested the machine and did a few minor repairs, including fixing the return lever. I also adjusted the misaligned upper and lower case typeface. Now all you have to do is insert paper and type. Comes with the original gold Holiday-style case, a reproduced instruction manual, and a rubber or cork typewriter pad. This typewriter would make an excellent graduation gift for an aspiring author, or a surprise birthday gift. And by the way, kids love typewriters!
