This most easterly province has a charm like no other, and after experiencing it firsthand, we’ve uncovered undeniable facts that changed our perspective entirely. Ten. The People
Putting first and most important factor first, we start with the people. Known as Newfoundlanders, they are probably the nicest people you’ll ever meet in Canada. You’ll love the manner in which you’d be treated. Despite being a stranger, they will be willing to work with you and give you information on everything you need to know, from their favorite local restaurant to other must-see spots throughout the province. The people are generally kind and friendly. They will immediately make you feel at home. In fact, their unique accents and vernacular are so charming and interesting. What about their love of music and storytelling? They tell some of the best stories authenticated by some of the best slang that may throw you off balance in the middle of the conversation.

Nine. The Lighthouses
Let’s talk next about the beautiful lighthouses you will see in every direction as you travel the coast of Newfoundland. These historic lighthouses dot every coastal corner of the area prompting anyone who wishes to create an epic trip, hopping from one to the next. If you like, you can even stay in a few of these houses. Among notable lighthouses Canada is known for you will find in Newfoundland is Point Amour Lighthouse located in southern Labrador. It’s the tallest in Atlantic Canada, standing at 164 feet. Built in 1857, Point Amour offers breathtaking views of the coastline and the North Atlantic Ocean. Another one is Ferryland Lighthouse. Built in 1870, it’s a charming coastal landmark. We can also talk about the Heart's Content Lighthouse, another historic beacon in Heart's Content, Newfoundland. Woody Point Public Library in Bonne Bay housed in a historic building is another addition to the charm of the area.

Eight. The Food and Drink
Cuisine is another reason to love Newfoundland. Food and Drink make this province stand out. Fresh seafood is its centerpiece and it uniquely blends English, Irish, and indigenous ingredients. Codfish is a staple of the Newfoundland local diet. It is being tried in many delicious ways, such as brewis or fishcakes. You will also find unique dishes like deep-fried dough called toutons, a boiled dinner with salt meat called Jiggs Dinner, and moose sausages and burgers. The Quidi Vidi brewery is a nice option! Don't forget to wash down all the food with a pint of the local beer. This is not unfounded since it’s surrounded by ocean.

These massive hunks of ice which are products of the glaciers of Greenland are carried by ocean currents to its coast. These natural wonders are an unforgettable experience hard to describe. The icebergs are quite visible from various vantage points, such as hiking trails, boat tours, or viewing platforms. Some of the best places to see these spectacular icebergs are Twillingate, Iceberg Alley, and the Great Northern Peninsula. Late May through June is the best time to view icebergs. If you’re lucky, you may catch a few in July.

Six. Quaint Fishing Villages
Let’s now talk about its quaint fishing villages. These colorful fishing villages dot the coastline. They’re something from a storybook. Wondering the narrow streets to admire the brightly painted houses is a wonderful sight to be immersed in. Observing the local fishermen haul in their catch is another amazing sight.
