A new species of giant stick insect has been found in a tropical rainforest in far north Queensland.
Professor Angus Emmott from James Cook University searched for a stick insect after receiving a photograph of a possible unknown species.
Weighing up to 44 grams, Acrophylla alta is believed to be the heaviest insect in Australia.
