To form the German bow hold, hold the stick with the left hand in the middle of the bow and place the frog comfortably against the palm of the right hand. Touch the tip of the thumb to the top of the stick. The pinkie is curved and touches the bottom of the frog on the ferrule. The index and middle fingers bend and touch the side of the stick. The ring finger floats comfortably, free from tension.
