As Professor Asher Cohen concludes his impactful eight-year tenure as President of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, we are honored to share some of his reflections on this remarkable chapter.
While the recent 12-day war in Israel has cast a shadow over this time and led to the cancellation of the International Board of Governors meeting — where his presidency was to be formally concluded and a new one announced — we remain deeply grateful for Professor Cohen’s visionary leadership.
Throughout his presidency, he has been a steadfast and true partner to the Canadian Friends, helping us bring to life countless projects that proudly bear a Canadian imprint across all three campuses. His dedication to academic excellence, inclusion, and innovation has left an indelible mark on the university and all who are connected to it.
