In the Now and Then series, pairs of past and current faculty discuss relationships between their work as well as their respective times at the UIC School of Architecture. Each Now and Then event involves individual presentations followed by a conversation moderated by a current faculty member whose work shares an affinity with the selected pair.
Kelly Bair is co-founder of BairBalliet and principal of Central Standard Office of Design. She is an associate professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s School of Architecture. Bair is a graduate of University of Colorado at Boulder and the UCLA Department of Architecture and Urban Design.
Catherine Ingraham has lectured and published widely in architecture and architectural history and theory. Her current book, Architecture, Property and the Pursuit of Happiness (Princeton University Press, forthcoming), is an examination of architectural work in relation to property systems, primarily in the United States.
