BOSS Plugout FX – Guitar Pedals as a Subscription?!

⚡ In this video I share my thoughts on the new BOSS Plugout FX and the growing trend of digital multi-FX platforms.

The Plugout FX pushes pedals toward a subscription-based model sparking a lot of discussion online. I fear the push towards all pedals being able to do all things at all times risks alienating the us humans from the tech we use for creative purposes.

In this video I discuss how the BOSS Plugout FX breaks with some of what I think are core principles of what pedals can, and maybe in the best case scenario should be: highly opinionated, creative, inspirational devices that force you to think differently.

Note: In this video I mention YouTube memberships. I’ve since decided against paid YouTube tiers for now as I had a little bit of trouble matching their value with the Patreon ones. Paid Patreon tiers are pricier than you might expect, but I think they offer significant value, especially if you’re someone who might pick up a few Fjord Fuzz pedals through the year.
