Onride: 'Stampida' (Blue) 🔵🎢 4K/POV 2025 - Portaventura world

Stampida is a dueling wooden roller coaster in the Spanish amusement park PortAventura Park . The roller coaster was built by CCI and designed by Dennis McNulty and Larry Bill . The opening of the roller coaster took place on March 17, 1997 , 2 years after the opening of the park.

Stampida 's 2 tracks intersect and also intersect the 3rd wooden junior roller coaster Tomahawk .

Stampida is located in the Far West part of the park and requires visitors to choose between 2 colors: red and blue. After the choice, the visitor is shown signs with his choice and he is wished good luck during the duel.

The roller coaster Stampida consists of 2 wooden roller coasters that are next to each other. Both departure stations are next to each other and the trains always leave the station together. After the departure, a lift hill follows. When the trains are above, the duel between red and blue starts and a wild, rough ride ensues. During the journey, the trains each take a different path, after which they cross each other in opposite directions. At the end of the ride, the trains reunite and drive back into the station in synchronization. The passengers leave the attraction through the common exit between the two stations.

In 2007 a video-on-ride system was added to the new trains. This films the visitor during the ride. However, the new trains are less comfortable.

In 2009 the attraction was converted making the ride much rougher and wilder. Especially the rear seats provide a very rough ride.

In 2010, the park decided to stop using the video-on-ride system. The system was put back into operation in 2011.
