In this short video, I demonstrate a three-step approach I used to stabilize a wind-damaged house. The goal is to raise awareness in the community about the importance of proper planning and technical assessments before starting construction.
✅ Step 1: Construction of strong buttress walls using stone pitching and mortar (1:3 ratio) to support the damaged structure.
✅ Step 2: Filling the spaces between the buttress walls with compacted stone gravel, layer by layer, mixed and moistened for strength.
✅ Step 3: Planting Tiitiin trees, a native Somali species, around the vulnerable side to act as a natural wind barrier.
This case highlights the importance of feasibility studies, soil tests, engineering design, and professional supervision before implementing any construction project.
Let’s build smarter and safer for our communities!
