This week’s paracord project is a koozie. You only need about 20 feet of paracord and your favorite drink for measurements!

Here are the steps to make your own paracord koozie:

You will need:

-Scissors
-Lighter
-Paracord you only need about 20 feet, and maybe 1 foot of a color for the top.
-Can, bottle, or whatever you are going to hold
-Paracord Fid Needle (optional)
-Cord Lock (optional)

Tie a 1 foot piece of paracord around your can, you can use a cord lock to hold it secure, or I just tied a knot. You will want to make this a little loose as we will have to wrap paracord around it..you can tighten it later.

Now, tie your weaving paracord onto the top string. Now we will begin weaving. I use a fid to help hold the paracord.

Using the fid, the paracord goes down and behind the top string, to make a loop. Leave a little space between each loop. I will make 5 of these around my can.

Now that you have gone completely around the can 1 time, we will start on row 2. Now you will use the fid to go behind the loop.

Here you can see the fid goes behind the previous loop…and you stitch back towards yourself, so that you make the loop.

Continue this until you have reached the bottom of your can. Now we will form the bottom and close it off.

As you stitch the loops will get closer together.

Now trim the end, and using the lighter you will melt it a bit and seal it to the paracord.

Now pop open your can and enjoy!
