Learn about our High Weald Heritage Schools project, carried out in partnership with Historic England.
The project was designed to get children excited about the place where they live and go to school by becoming 'TIme Traveller Detectives' and uncovering stories embedded in this special landscape.
Our Education Officer Rachel worked with five primary schools across the AONB, creating bespoke workshops, creative activities and themed welly walks.
Each school focused on something special to their village, but connected by the bigger story of the High Weald.
Listen to children form each school reading out some of their own poetry, which they were inspired to write after exploring the beautiful High Weald Landscape and learning about the special heritage of their local area.
