Joshua's act of writing God's law on stone tablets after Israel's defeat and victory reveals powerful truths about covenant relationship. Unlike pagan kings who recorded military conquests, Joshua inscribed God's covenant to show that Israel's strength came from their relationship with the Lord, not their own power. This connects to how Moses interceded for Israel by reminding God of His covenant promise to pay for their sins. Today, Christians live under a new covenant written on our hearts by the Holy Spirit, with Jesus as our perfect intercessor. Living in this covenant requires ongoing repentance, total surrender to Jesus as Lord, and allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us through Scripture and prayer.
