First Day of Spring at Middle Creek | Bald Eagles, American Kestrel & Last Snow Geese

Good day, and welcome back!
It’s the first day of spring here at Middle Creek Wildlife Area. Although I missed the peak of the Snow Geese migration, I was treated to a peaceful, less crowded visit on what turned out to be a beautiful—albeit windy—day. Parking was easy, and I got to check out the new Pavilion all to myself. I spent some time watching Bald Eagles coming and going from their nest, and there were still a few lingering flocks of snow geese around. A highlight was a spirited little American Kestrel that kept dodging my camera all day.
