Wanaka is a small town on the edge of a lake in the South Island of New Zealand. This morning, the weather was glorious and we hired kayaks for two hours and ended up paddling to Ruby Island, which is in the middle of Lake Wanaka.
Pros: amazingly beautiful scenery, feels like you're living the life
Con: hideous sunburn (I applied sunscreen while still in sneakers and forgot about it when I changed into jandals. Don't be like me.)
