Al-Masqar is a Jordanian town located in the Naour district, to the southwest of the center of the capital, Amman, 25 km away. There are many narrations to give it this name: the first of which was mentioned by Yaqut al-Hamawi in his book Mu’jam al-Buldan that it was taken from al-Shaqra, which is the red, or from the shaqr, which is the anemone, and this name was given to a fort between Najran and Bahrain. As for the second narration; The word is derived from “Al-Mashjar” meaning the place thick with trees, and it turned the gym in the dialect of the local townspeople, and this narration is more likely.

According to the statistics of 2018, the town’s population reached 5,972 (2,992 males and 2,980 females), and a large proportion of them are university graduates and have higher degrees.
