모하비 사막 탐험 (Hole in the wall Camping)

우리는 새해 첫날, 모하비 사막을 탐험하기 위해 해발 약 4,400피트에 위치한 모하비 국립보호구역(Mojave National Preserve)내 Hole-in-the-Wall 캠핑장으로 떠났습니다.
맑고 온화한 오후에 도착한 덕분에 캠핑장 주변을 여유롭게 산책하며 사막의 고요한 풍경을 만끽할 수 있었고, 정성껏 준비한 저녁 식사를 즐긴 뒤 캠프파이어를 피우며 따뜻하고 즐거운 시간을 보내며 하룻밤을 보냈습니다.

이튿날 아침 역시 하늘은 투명하게 열려 있었고 우리는 본격적인 사막 탐험에 나섰습니다. Rings Loop Trail을 따라 하이킹을 하며 고대 모하비 원주민들이 남긴 신비로운 암각화를 감상하고, 수만 년 전 화산 활동으로 형성된 기암괴석과 오랜 세월이 빚어낸 독특한 암벽 홀들을 마주하며 자연의 위대함을 온몸으로 느낄 수 있었습니다. 사막이 지닌 거칠면서도 장엄한 아름다움 속에서 잊지 못할 시간을 보낸 뜻깊은 여정이었습니다. 즐겁게 시청해 주시길 바라며, 함께해 주셔서 감사합니다.

On New Year’s Day, we set out to explore the Mojave Desert and traveled to the Hole-in-the-Wall Campground, located at about 4,400 feet in elevation within Mojave National Preserve.

Thanks to the clear and mild afternoon weather, we were able to take a relaxed walk around the campground and enjoy the quiet desert scenery. After a delicious, home-prepared dinner, we spent a warm and enjoyable evening around the campfire and stayed overnight.

The next morning, the sky was once again clear and bright, and we began our desert adventure. Hiking along the Rings Loop Trail, we saw ancient petroglyphs carved by the Mojave Native people, as well as unique rock formations created by volcanic activity tens of thousands of years ago and natural rock holes shaped by time. It was a meaningful and unforgettable journey, surrounded by the rugged and majestic beauty of the desert.
