John Thompson, Chairman of the Medfield State Hospital Buildings & Grounds Committee, shared his experiences managing the former Medfield State Hospital property to a crowd of over 60 attendees. John showed pictures of the buildings and grounds, some historical and some recent. He also shared some of his experiences outside and inside the buildings, and a few stories from interacting with many people that have visited the property.
John served as Chairman of the mediation committee that created the Charles River Overlook Park, adjacent to the campus of Medfield State Hospital. He has managed the buildings and grounds of Medfield State Hospital since December 2014. As Chairman of the Medfield Archaeology Advisory Committee for 20-plus years, John has been involved in numerous archaeological investigations in Medfield, focused on both prehistoric and historical archaeological sites.
