YBA는 Young British Artist의 줄임말로 영국을 대표하는 젊은 작가들을 뜻합니다. 1980년대 말 이후에 나타난 작가들로 자유로운 주제와 표현 및 소재사용으로 현대미술의 새로운 획을 긎고 있습니다. 데미안 허스트, 안소니 곰리, 트레이시 에민, 레이첼 화이트리드, 마크 퀸 등의 작가들은 예술의 경계를 허물고 새로운 매체 실험으로 미술의 사회심리학적 영역의 새로운 장을 열고 있습니다.

YBA stands for Young British Artist, a young British writer who represents England. The artists who appeared in the late 1980s and later are making a new milestone in modern art by freely using themes, expressions and materials. Artist such as Damien Hirst, Anthony Gomley, Tracy Emin, Rachel Whiteread and Mark Quinn are breaking the boundaries of art and opening a new chapter in the field of social psychology of art with new media experiments.
