The final song that closes our New York week was written by award-winning composer Steve Karmen for the 1977 ad campaign to promote tourism in the state of New York. The campaign was a success, producing the iconic "I ♥ NY" slogan and logo, and this song also eventually became the state song of New York. Both my parents loved this song, and would play the single repeatedly when it was released--I love it too. What you're hearing is the actual single that they bought in 1977, which has survived all these years.
