Tuscania, like many of the neighboring municipalities and as typical of this area of Viterbo, rises on some (in this case, seven) promontories of tuff rock placed between the Marta river and the Fosso Capecchio [4] which dominate, allowing their control, the Marta valley, which represents an important route of communication and transhumance that united, since prehistoric times, Lake Bolsena with the Tyrrhenian Sea, near the current Tarquinia.
