Fort Polk Honors Community Leaders – Inaugural 'Friends of the Forge' Ceremony

Join us as we celebrate the inaugural "Friends of the Forge" induction ceremony at Fort Polk, where three outstanding community leaders were honored for their unwavering support of soldiers, families, and veterans.

This heartfelt event recognizes individuals who have made a lasting impact on the installation and its personnel. The 2025 inductees are:

Logan Morris – CEO of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce and the youngest civilian aide to the Secretary of the Army. Recognized for championing employment opportunities for military spouses and supporting military children during school transitions.

Keith Lewing – Known for personally greeting every bus of redeploying soldiers and escorting them home. Hosts numerous free events for soldiers, families, and veterans.

Jody Campbell – Founder of the Dry Creek Veterans Day Celebration, one of the largest in Southwest Louisiana. Dedicated to honoring retirees and ensuring Vietnam veterans receive long-overdue recognition.
