{Ingredients}
Toor Dal-1 Cup (12m Nl Cup)
Turmeric powder-1 Tsp
Salt - As pr Taste
Sambar Powder-31/2 Tsp
Big Onion-1 Nos
Carrot- 1/2 Piece
Pumpkin-5 Pieces
Drum Stick- 1 Piece
Cucumber-5 pieces
Ash Gourd-5 Pieces
Ladies Finger-4 Pieces
Potato -1Nos
Tomato-2 Nos
Tamarind-1 Lemon Size
Hing (kayam)-1/2 Tsp
Curry Leaves-2 Strings
Mustard Seeds-1Tsp
Fenugreek Seed-1 Tsp
Red Chilli-3 nos
Coconut Oil- 2 Tsp
Water
Method of Cooking
Wash & soak the Tamarind in water
Wash Dal & pressure cook by adding Turmeric powder, Salt & Hing
Enough Water . Mean while take a bottom vessel add all the vegetables except ladies finger tomato & Big Onion. Add salt & turmeric and juice of tamarind and enough water and cook for 10 Minutes.At the time of boiling add 2 tsp Sambar Powder and cook for another 5 Minutes. Then add cooked Dal mix well
Heat oil in a pan saute rest of the vegetables ( Ladies Finger, Tomato, Big Onion ) and add to the Samba mixture , and mix well. Finally add 1/12 Tsp Sambar powder and cook for 5 Minutes.
Check Salt & sourness . in this time if you like you can add 1 Piece of Jaggery . Once it boiled Switch of the flame keep them aside ,now heat the coconut Oil add mustard seeds Fenugrrek Seeds red chili, Curry Leaves one by one .Turn of the flame and add the seasoning in to the Sambar , mix well .Close with the lid for few minutes. Our #Sambar is ready
