Sean Robertson
Sean is the Manager of the Scottish Fisheries Coordination Centre, and his main roles include organising training for the Freshwater Fisheries sector and providing technical support for National projects which FMS and SFCC coordinate. Sean previously worked for the Kyle of Sutherland Fisheries Trust, where he started his career as a biologist.
In this presentation, Sean discusses the process of developing a suite of fisheries management plans across Scotland, funded by Crown Estate Scotland and the Marine Fund Scotland. The resulting plans are accessible on the Fisheries Management Scotland website as interactive StoryMaps and a national dashboard of filterable management actions. Sean highlights the benefits of an interactive GIS approach, including the ability to identify common themes, challenges, and the scale of action needed across the country. The aggregated data can be further analysed to understand typical actions, costs, and potential for nature finance investment.
