PARD MINI NIGHT STALKER FINAL THOUGHTS

been using the pard mini night stalker for a good month or so now-final buying thoughts.

priced at £339 what you get is a compact digital day and night vision capable scope.
an external ir torch is needed-and the quality of the ir torch will dictatate the picture quality from the mini.

i used the p.b.i.r torch and was surprised at the clarity of night image out to 100 yards plus-considering this mini is aimed at the air rifle and rimfire market.

easy to use-set up also you can record the footage when installed the micro sd card.

battery time is good, even better when using the sleep mode function.
I've had 8 hours of use with the mini, but that was using the sleep mode function alot and the external ir light source-and the environment was warm.

the only fault i found with the pard mini-was the focus wheel,ok not a big problem with some users, but it does warrant mentioning.
constantly trying to find the focussed image with a very sensitive focus wheel can and is frustrating, especially when quick reactions are needed when out ratting.

many forums i have visited say the same thing about the focus wheel,ok some are ok with it-but the majority are not-also with this minor problem i haven't come across in the review videos i have watched, its never mentioned-come on guys a little honesty wouldn't go amiss, nothings perfect.

would an add on pard,say the 007 be better than this-really depends on your rifle set up i guess, I have used the 007 add ons in the past and the main problem i had using them was the length of cheeck rest you loose, can be uncomfortable to use, but that's me,i do prefer this scope option.

overall a great little entry level digital day and night scope, get over the sensitive focus wheel and you would be pleased with your purchase.

even better if you can try before you buy.

also bear in mind, the pard lens covers have a nasty habit of breaking off-coming loose-the mini lens cover is still going strong-so maybe that's a fault on the ds35 unit alone-time will tell.
