A Sit Down Interview with Tony McGaharan

Welcome back to another week of celebrating People Playbook’s 5th anniversary of being in business.

5 years is a long time. It feels right to mark this moment in our history, as we have grown so much from humble beginnings.

5 years ago, Tony was working with anyone who needed help in this space during the pandemic.

Then he moved on to developing the team, to navigating growth and grief, and now People Playbook works with international clients based all over the world.

We are delighted to bring a special conversation to you today, as we hear from our Founder & CEO, Tony McGaharan being interviewed by one of our Playmakers, Esther Mogada.

Esther had the pleasure of interviewing Tony back in March 2023, where they covered a lot of Tony’s story about who he was in his early twenties, what he felt about himself, and what led him to become the person he is.

We wanted to continue that conversation because a lot has happened since then for Tony and for People Playbook.

In this episode, you’ll get to hear about Tony’s work in growing and evolving the business. You’ll get an insight into the way in which Tony was affected by his mother passing away, and how working through this incredibly difficult event led to a fundamental change in his business model.

Tony then discusses the birth of the Playmakers, standing firm with his mantra that everybody must win, and the importance of maintaining a high bar for performance in order to do the best work possible.

This episode is a tribute to his late mother, Janet, and highlights her legacy, which still lives on.

Tony connects the dots when discussing the roots of his love for design and facilitation, tracing it all the way back to his childhood, and to the influence of his kind, playful, and inspiring mother.
