Hello friends today in video we discussed about 21 types of disability which was presented in Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Bill, 2014 was introduced into the Parliament on 7 February 2014 and passed by the Lok Sabha on 14 December 2016. The Bill was passed by the Rajya Sabha on 16 February 2016 and received the President's assent on 27 December 2016. It come into force with effect from 15 June 2017.
Following are the disability conditions included in the #RPWDAct2016
Blindness
Low-vision
Leprosy Cured persons
Hearing Impairment (deaf and hard of hearing)
Locomotor Disability
Dwarfism
Intellectual Disability
Mental Illness
Autism Spectrum Disorder
Cerebral Palsy
Muscular Dystrophy
Chronic Neurological conditions
Specific Learning Disabilities
Multiple Sclerosis
Speech and Language disability
Thalassemia
Hemophilia
Sickle Cell disease
Multiple Disabilities including deaf-blindness
Acid Attack victim
Parkinson’s disease
Rights and entitlements Additional benefits such as reservation in higher education (not less than 5%), government jobs (not less than 4 %), reservation in allocation of land, poverty alleviation schemes (5% allotment) etc. have been provided for persons with benchmark disabilities and those with high support needs.#ReservationForDisabled
