Colleen Ballinger is coming back, and possibly re-introducing her persona “Miranda Sings” into the public sphere. The biggest issue is that the internet doesn’t seem ready to accept her back. Many are frustrated at her apparent lack of authentic apology and are further troubled by the level of accountability she has shown thus far. In light of her divisive return to social media, I have analyzed the footage of her during a podcast episode uploaded a couple months ago in which she claims her purpose is to address the allegations and take ownership of her actions. The question is not only, ‘did she do so’ but also, was she being authentic while doing so. This is what I was able to determine.
