marvelous designer to chaos cloth unreal engine 5.4 - USD Workflow in 4 steps

In this tutorial, I’ll guide you through the process of simulating cloth from marvelous designer to chaos cloth Unreal Engine 5.4. We’ll start by animating the character with Mixamo animations. If you’re new to this, check out my tutorial on how to animate your MetaHuman using the Mixamo converter (link below). Next, I’ll show you how to download a cloth from the internet and dress your MetaHuman in Marvelous Designer.

Once the cloth is dressed, we’ll check the UVs and export it in USDA format, including all textures. After activating the Chaos plugins, we’ll import the USD file into Unreal Engine in four easy steps. In some cases, you might need to hide parts of the MetaHuman’s body under the cloth, and I’ll cover that as well. Finally, I’ll explain why this workflow is more efficient, as it allows you to simulate animations directly in Unreal Engine without needing to export animations back and forth with Marvelous Designer.
