More Rain and Snow for Thursday Across California

Clear skies around California today — a nice chance to dry out after the recent storms. Enjoy the break, because more rain and mountain snow return in the next 36–48 hours. Expect showers back in the forecast by Thursday, along with another round of Sierra snowfall.

Snowpack is off to a fantastic early-season start: nearly two feet at Mammoth Mountain and close to a foot at the top of Palisades Tahoe, with more on the way. Cooler temps have helped snowmaking too, so Thanksgiving skiing is looking very likely.

The weekend outlook is promising with improving weather, and surf builds on Friday along the Central and Northern California coast.
