Bazaar-e Rasht is a musical journey inspired by the vibrant folk rhythms of Gilan, a walk through the bustling bazaar where rain, laughter, the scent of fresh herbs, and the voices of fishmongers blend into one living symphony. Joyful and full of movement, this Persian jazz fusion mix invites the listener to feel the heartbeat of a rainy northern city from anywhere in the world.
This collection reimagines beloved Gilaki folk songs such as Rana-ye, Jinge Jinge Jan, Oy Leyli (with compositions by Ahmad Ashourpour), along with Gol Pamchal and Salaam Begoftam Tare.
Ahmad Ashourpour (1917–2007), singer, composer, and lyricist, was one of the first to bring folk songs into Iranian radio and popular music, earning him the title “Father of Gilan’s Folk Music.” The essence of his work was hope — music of vitality and resilience, songs that echoed the storm of the Caspian Sea, the energy of Friday bazaars, and the warmth of youthful love.
Gol Pamchal is one of the most famous Gilaki songs, written around 1950 by Seyed Jafar Mehrdad in the Dashti mode. Its melody revived the forgotten Tasnif-e Jangal and became a timeless anthem embraced by villagers and townspeople alike.
This album is an attempt to capture the spirit of Rasht Bazaar in Persian jazz — music full of color, motion, and life, a soundtrack for study, work, or quiet reflection.

«بازار رشت» سفری موسیقایی است با الهام از ریتم‌های فولکلور گیلان، سفر به بازاری که باران، خنده، بوی سبزی تازه و صدای ماهی‌فروشانش در هم می‌آمیزد و هر ساعتی از روز سرشار از طراوت و زندگی است.
«بازار رشت» شاد و دل‌انگیز است، همچون کوچه‌های بارانی‌اش، هیاهوی ماهی‌فروش‌ها و حس شیرین دل‌بستگی به شهری که هیچ‌گاه سکوت را نمی‌شناسد. در این مجموعه، ترانه‌های فولکلور گیلکی چون «رعنای»، «جینگه جینگه جان» و «اوی لیلی» (با آهنگسازی احمد عاشورپور)، همچنین «گل پامچال» و «سلام بگفتم تره»، بازآفرینی شده‌اند.
احمد عاشورپور (۱۲۹۶–۱۳۸۶)، خواننده، آهنگ‌ساز و ترانه‌سرای برجسته‌ی ایرانی، از نخستین کسانی بود که ترانه‌های محلی را وارد فضای رادیو و موسیقی عامه‌پسند کرد و به همین دلیل او را پدر موسیقی محلی گیلان می‌دانند. امید، عنصر شاخص ترانه‌های عاشورپور بود. این جمله از اوست: «مردمی که در پهنهٔ شالیزارها به جنگ زالوها می‌روند تا زندگی را پیدا کنند، این مردم نمی‌توانند با یأس فلسفی، عرفان‌زدگی و گرایش‌های ویژهٔ روشنفکری زندگی کنند، آن‌ها موسیقی امیدبخش و نشاط‌آور می‌خواهند، موسیقی که توفان دریا را بسراید و در غوغای جمعه‌بازار، گرمی خون سرخی را که در گونه‌های دختر عاشق جریان دارد به عرصهٔ کلام بکشاند.»
«گل پامچال» نام ترانه‌ای گیلکی در آواز دشتی است که حدود سال ۱۳۳۰ توسط سید جعفر مهرداد سروده شده‌است. آهنگ این ترانه هم‌آهنگ با «تصنیف جنگل» است که به دست فراموشی سپرده شده بود، اما استقبال گسترده از «گل پامچال» موجب شد آن تصنیف قدیمی دوباره زنده شود.
این آلبوم تلاشی است برای بازآفرینی حال‌وهوای بازار رشت در قالب جز ایرانی؛ موسیقی‌ای سرشار از رنگ، حرکت و زندگی، که می‌تواند همراه لحظه‌های مطالعه، کار یا آرامش شما باشد.
🎨 اثر هنری: «بازار در پونتواز» (حدود ۱۸۹۰) اثر کامیل پیسارو، نقاش امپرسیونیست فرانسوی که به‌خاطر تصویرگری زندگی روستایی و شهری شناخته می‌شود.
