The Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) has carried out a pre-emptive attack on the Allied Democratic Forces bases in the DR Congo. On December 8th, at least 14 United Nations peacekeepers from Tanzania were killed in the restive Democratic Republic of Congo in the deadliest attack in the organisation’s recent history. 40 others are wounded in the troubled North Kivu province
