Sam Altman’s Worldcoin has recently rebranded to "World" and introduced a new version of its iris-scanning Orb. This device, which is key to the project’s global identity verification initiative, now features enhanced AI capabilities and 5G connectivity. It uses Nvidia's Jetson chipset for five times more AI performance than its predecessor. The new Orb is designed with improved security features, including low-light image capture, fraud detection, and enhanced privacy protections through secure multiparty computation.

Additionally, World has introduced "World ID 3.0," which allows users to verify their identity using credentials stored from NFC-enabled passports, further increasing accessibility for users who may not want to undergo an iris scan. These updates are aimed at scaling the project globally and enhancing digital trust, providing a robust system to distinguish humans from AI entities.
