Update the failure of this resistor was caused by a 6pin plug on the remote wire had a short on pin 5 and 6 i cut the plug off and re crimped a new one on that removed the short also the audio taper 5k ohm pot in the remote level controller was damaged as a result of the short i replaced the pot and all is working fine. Bass kabob decided to go with a bass 8k and gave me the big boss 3k that now lives in my Yaris and working just fine
