The Azerbaijan Exemplary Military Orchestra of the State Border Service - Royal Windsor Horse Show

The Exemplary Military Orchestra of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan performing at the Royal Windsor Horse Show on Saturday 17th May 2025 in the presence of HRH King Charles III in the Castle Arena. The band's performance was part of a wider entertainment display presented by the Republic of Azerbaijan titled 'Azerbaijan - Land of Fire' and included the State Border Service Cavalry unit riding on Karabakh Horse, dancers from the Sarhadchi national dance ensemble.

The band was under the direction of Honoured Artist Samad Vakilov, the exemplary orchestra's conductor and the cavalry unit was under command of Chief Instructor Imran Ahmadli.

Musically, the performance includes many traditional instruments blended with the exemplary military orchestra playing melodies such as the 'Yalli' folk dance, Muslim Magomayev’s song 'Azerbaijan' and Niyazi’s 'Gaytaghi'. They also include a special tribute to the UK with Alford's march 'Colonel Bogey' which raises HRH King Charles III to his feet in acknowledgment.

This is not the first time Azerbaijan has displayed at The Royal Windsor Horse Show, however this is the first time that they have brought a military orchestra with them as part of the performance.
