Moving Barbara to the New Home...A Fragile Operation!

The answer to the question most of you have been asking...."When is Barbara going to the new flat?" And here we are, the day I finally move the one machine that started my entire collection almost 10 years ago. Barbara AKA my famous Hotpoint 9530 Electronic 1000 Plus from April 1986, finally takes a journey to join the rest of her fellow collection members in the new flat. Marking her OFFICIALLY safely in preservation and not outside under a tarpaulin.

By no means an easy job, as for those familiar with or who own any of the 95/97 or 99 series machines will know, as the plastics become terribly fragile and the trims prone to snapping or cracking. She survived and is now safely in the new home. A full run in her new place will follow on next. I can now say, my entire collection, barring a few handheld vacuum cleaners has now been safely transported.

I am also currently on holiday in the USA...so I may plan to do a Laundrette (or Laundromat) video.
